Joy to the world...

Each of us dreamed of the White Christmas and this Christmas, our desire is fulfilled
We live in the darkest time of the year. Today the day was three hours long.
We call this time the polar night , the endles night.

                                                      Christmas brings light and joy.

My Cards

Did you know that I am a card maker. Over the years, I've made hundreds of cards, and I have never sold them. I sent them to my friends, and some I have kept to myself. I started making cards sometime in the 1980s. The earlier style is such a simple, no-sparkle, and they are pretty dark. At a dark color, I wanted to describe the dark Nordic winters, short days and freezing temperatures.

I have used many different techniques, different colored boards glued on top. Two cards in the top, I'm blowed the paint, using a straw, and after a quick drawing of removing the paint.
The lowest card I have painted the moon and silhouettes of trees with white paint.

Nakina ON Canada, blessed little town

Nakina, a small town far away in the middle of the forest, waiting for Christmas, then as well as today. Streets, houses, trees, and all covered with snow. Cold frost, and wind in the corners of houses. Wolves howled in the forests, the bears were sleeping in their nests. Everywhere peace and good will. People of the city were preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Christmas presents were prepared in an atmosphere of excitement and expectation. Dreaming of a white Christmas.

I chose these two cards describe the small town Nakina.

Christmas 1969

We lived in a town called Nakina, a small town in the middle of forests. the city's atmosphere was a bit of mystery. The city was built fifty years before, when the railway was built in the area. The houses were small wooden houses and the streets were not covering. They were gravel streets. I loved the small town and even still to this day. Today the city is quite different, the old houses have disappeared almost full and the new is built to replace.

Old Cards - Port Arthur Canada 1967

This card I sent to my mother in law in 1967.
She kept it thru the years and I find it in her belongings after her death

Snow storm

The first really bad snow storm this winter. We did not have electrisity for seventeen hours, it was like in the olden days, the candles and the fire in the fireplace. Very cozy, I enjoyed.

Stillness

Lazy days - rain and the sun - warm yet -
 wather report promises to frost.
Yesterday - a little bit of play in the yard.
I did some art - under the tree.

The clear October day, leafless trees

Whether it is time to say
goodbye to autumn
and say
welcome to  the new season.
